I have mentioned The Jolly Tar (now with their own website) in a previous post

Well I'm back in the area again and on Friday I saw the fab Funk School play there. If you are as bored as I am of the usual pub-rock offerings, this band is overflowing with funky grooviness and fun(k) and I defy anyone to go to one of their gigs and not have a fantastic time.

It's that time of the year again....

Bye Bye Gwyneth

I'm very sorry to hear about the death of Gwyneth Dunwoody.

She came to do a talk at my main place of work recently starting off by saying something like

"People think I'm an antagonistic old car-hating bat, and they're right apart from the 'old' ".

I was really impressed by her honesty, fiestyness and the way she fielded questions which paid short shrift to those ideas based more on daily-mail type propoganda than reality. She was funny, intelligent and brilliant.....and a pain in the arse to New Labour which can't be all bad!
