Getting home was a major event in itself - for the thousnds pouring along dual carriageways on foot - We made a friend for the night who also had to get back to Birmingham.
Time to go home :{

"A mirror to the moon....."
The Chilis played a fantastic set dominated by their new material, Flea was even more wired than usual and they included several jams including an absolutely euphoric extended jam at the end of the night which was the best thing they did of all involving AK chanting something and the others totally feeling the same thing rushing through them - mega. I didn't want to spoil all the fun by taking pictures during the set so I just took this distant one when JF did a solo version of a BeeGees song (I think his voice is even higher than the BeeGees!).

I am in that "sea of fans picture" somewhere - under this light rig thing. A bit scary.

Amazingly Anthony Kiedis came on stage at about 6 when the place was still only half full to introduce the first support band (chick chick chick) who he obviously thinks quite a lot of. They were pretty funky. Dirty pretty things were next and a bit boring to be honest.

Sharon on the pitch.
The sight on entering the Ricoh arena, Cov. July 2nd 2006 - A sea of Chili Pepper fans already await...
