Classic working boats.

At Easter loads of traditional working boats pass by twice - on the way, and the way back from some gathering in Chester. This is the F.M.C. boat"Minnow".

Been so long since I looked at your blog, as we've been so busy on Warrior ... nice to see Minnow on its way, we waved Mark and Vicky off that morning after watching them preparing over the preceding few days (and listening to them getting the engine going!). Our engine room roof vent is going to be a copy of Minnow's.

As you say in your blog Sarah, the working boat gathering was in Ellesmere Port not Chester as I'd suggested (shame on me). In my defence, I did think it was Ellesmere Port until a very authentic-looking "real" boater (beard, small-dogs, expert fender-maker) mentioned they were gathering in Chester and I bowed to what seemed his clearly superior position in the boat hierarchy, as one must. Anyway, seriously lovely to be stirred by the sights and sounds of these old boats. All the best.

No, you're not wrong, they all gather in Chester first and then make their weay en masse to the Port. So if you go on the first day, you get to see the parade of them arriving; we did this last year but not this year. You must go, it's brilliant. Also Braunston (June 23/24) if you haven't been ... even better.
